Best golf clubs for value?
A) Should I buy golf clubs for my boyfriend for christmas, or is it one of those things best left to the player to pick?
B) If I should buy, what is the best set to buy as value for money?
I am thinking of spending $500au but I have no idea where to start. He is a tall guy, and mostly hits balls at the driving range. As far as I know he likes the irons best, not the drivers. He is really getting into golf though, and practicing with different clubs at the range before attempting the courses. I would appreciate any information on types/brand names/specifications of clubs recommended?
If he is tall clubs should be custom fitted. Take him to a golf speciality store and they will properly fit him for clubs.
A properly fitted club will make or break ones game.
Specility golf store will have an indoor range and allow him to hit the club in the store. He may not like the way some clubs may feel, the best thing is to try them all. I ended liking a less expensive iron and a very expensive driver.
I have been playing for about 7 years my most recent set cost about $1500 US for everything.
